Module 1: Welcome to your Change Journey

Welcome

Welcome to The Change Programme!

We know you’re going to get a lot better at navigating and adapting to changes.

What you need

All you need is the desire to make the most of change, some curiosity about how to do that and, ideally, a specific change that you’re thinking about making soon or busy navigating right now.

You’ll also need a notebook – your change journal. Journals have scientifically been shown to improve mental health, memory and productivity. And physical (rather than online) journals are especially effective. They can be seen and touched, and when kept on a desk or bedside table, they act as reminders, making you more committed to them.

Your journal is a crucial part of the Change Programme, and will be your companion throughout.

How it’s structured

The programme is made up of 6 modules, with each module comprising 3 short sessions: a LEARN session, a DO session and a REFLECT session. You can do the sessions in your own time, whenever you want to. You complete each session before moving onto the next.

It’s best to do one module per week: that's enough time to absorb the content, while maintaining good momentum. Of course, some change happens suddenly, some more slowly, so you can pace the programme as you want to.

Here’s a quick outline of what to expect.

Module 1

Welcome to your Change Journey

You’ll learn a little about the science behind the programme, get some early insights into making changes, and start thinking about how ready and willing you are to make them.

Module 2

Thinking about change

While you’re still just contemplating change, it’s good to know what needs to be in place for you to change, what might stand in your way, and how to overcome some of the obstacles.

Module 3

Deciding to change

What are the pros and cons of making (or not making) a change? And, if you do decide to go ahead and try to change, what will help give you the best chance of making it stick?

Module 4

Planning to change

Once you’ve decided to change, it’ll pay to do some preparation. Here, you’ll get your head around what the change might entail, what might be in store, and how you might approach it.

Module 5

Change In Action

It’s time to put everything you’ve learned into action. We’ll revisit some ideas from previous modules, and introduce a few new practical concepts to help you make a success of change.

Module 6

Living the Change

While some changes may be easy to maintain, others may still face setbacks. We’ll offer some perspectives on how to respond when things are challenging, and when things are swell.

We hope you enjoy the programme, and that you grow to love change.
